Small businesses are the backbone of every country’s workforce and arguably the hardest working. They create the most jobs and deliver growth – usually without the tools, resources, and support that larger enterprises take for granted – particularly in their use of technology
As the nature of work continues to evolve, modern organizations face an ever-changing set of challenges. The consumerization of IT and an increasingly mobile workforce have created a generation of workers who interact with data and information in entirely new ways. If businesses want to keep their footing in this new landscape, they must respond in ways that allow them to stay both flexible and secure.
Today, a great deal of work happens through devices, apps, and digital experiences—and people increasingly pay attention to those experiences as they decide where to work. That means IT is more important than ever in helping the business attract and retain great talent. When IT builds employee experiences that are streamlined and simple at every point—from onboarding to day-to-day tasks—they help ensure a workforce that is engaged, motivated and productive.
The move to a hyperconnected, technology-centric, always-on work environment is creating increasing pressure on companies and employees to keep up in a world where change is not just constant, but ever accelerating. To succeed in this world, businesses need employees who can not only withstand challenge and uncertainty, but who embrace and thrive on the opportunities associated with change. This requires creating a culture that understand and supports the importance of well-being. Well-being is no longer a nice to have. It’s now a critical “strategy for workforce readiness.”

In this case study, a large enterprise with an increasing amount
of off-site work from both work-related travel and a fast-growing
remote workforce, is faced with a unique challenge to ensure
their data security is scalable and impenetrable. Their data access
policies rely on physical access management provided at the
company offices and do not always provide off-site employees
with the ability to complete work-critical tasks. Legacy security
solutions only add burden to productivity, sometimes causing
employees to ignore security protocols in order to simply
complete their work. Upon evaluating security vendors for a
frictionless solution, they selected BehavioSec for its enterprise-grade capabilities with on-premise deployment and integration
with existing legacy risk management systems.
In September, leading insurance professionals joined TIBCO for an exclusive and interactive roundtable dinner. During the course of the discussion, it became clear that while AI will significantly alter the customer journey, a lot still needs to be done in terms of both defining AI's capabilities as well as acknowledging where it best fits in an insurance business, how it will impact the workforce and reinvent the customer journey.

AI innovation in retail starts with a tech-forward company culture, from C-suite stakeholders down to every employee. AI greatly enhances a retailer’s ability to harness data for better merchandising, marketing, and customer service. It will not only complement existing retail jobs but introduce brand new roles and skill sets into the human workforce.
A new NPR/Marist poll reveals that one in five jobs in the U.S. is held by a worker under contract. In fact, independent contractors could make up half of the entire workforce in the U.S. within the next decade.
More and more organizations have begun to see contractors and suppliers as valuable business partners intrinsic to driving service and product innovation. For many companies, especially those operating in highly regulated industries, managing compliance in-house for all of these suppliers can be burdensome.
But the cost of non-compliance — in the form of penalties, fines, productivity losses, settlement costs, and inefficiencies — is ruinous.
This white paper will discuss:
• The hidden costs of ignoring contractor management
• Best practices towards holistic compliance and governance
• The cost of different contractor management systems
• How to get the highest ROI in your supply chain

War is being waged for talent, and the spoils will go to those
organizations that arm their recruits with the technology that makes
them work more effectively and creatively. Technology is now the
primary way that organizations engage with their workforce. According
to a Harvard Business Review Analytic Services survey of 677
executives, the overwhelming majority—86%—believe that technology
has a greater impact on employee engagement today than it did three
years ago, and a similar number say that technology will continue to be
a major factor in engaging the workforce in the years ahead.

The maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) and industrial distribution industry is massive and continues to grow at a steady pace. Despite this positive outlook, individual MRO distributors aren’t short on their own challenges when it comes to retaining and growing their market share.
There are several factors hindering MRO companies from retaining the share they have and claiming more. Namely:
• Complexity: Their large customer counts and behemoth SKU counts render it impossible to give reps market-aligned pricing guidance and sales intelligence
• Competition: MRO is ripe for poaching by Amazon, and as a result, traditional distributors continue to see market share slipping away to the online giant
• Skills: A massive generational shift in the workforce is resulting in a skills gap that’s proving particularly problematic to fill
In this playbook for MRO and industrial products distributors, we will discuss how growth is hindered in this dynamic industry and then provide reimagin

Prior to implementing the Anaplan platform, RSA Group had a tedious spreadsheet-based, nine-month planning cycle riddled with data quality issues, which was compounded by siloed, functional fragmentation across the company. As a result, the finance team was spending a significant amount of time cleaning data rather than analyzing it to provide insight to key stakeholders throughout the business.
Using the Anaplan platform, RSA Group reduced their financial planning process from nine months to five months. The workforce planning team experienced a 50% improvement in productivity. The business can now own their connected plans, resulting in improved decision support to business users, as well as improved customer service and financial results.
Government agencies often look to promote new technology for cost-savings and efficiency, but it does not stop there. The second and third-tier effects of technology can be long lasting for citizens, businesses, and economies. When public institutions adopt the cloud, they experience an internal transformation. Inside an organization, cloud usage drives greater accessibility of data and information sharing, increases worker productivity, and improves resource allocation. The external benefit of the cloud is recognized through a government’s ability to put reclaimed time and resources toward serving citizens. This includes provisioning public services, such as occupational-skills training, quicker and more effective service delivery, a pathway to a more productive workforce, and ultimately, a boost to local development. This whitepaper examines the enterprise-level benefits of the cloud, as well as the residual impact on economic development. The U.S. Economic Development Administration

While we tend to think about mobility largely as a consumer phenomenon, it is also changing how the workforce carries
out business. With so much being done beyond traditional office walls, many insurance companies, financial service
organizations and even government agencies are adopting mobile tablets and smartphones as productivity tools for
agents, representatives and personnel, and developing enterprise apps for these devices.
The importance of nurturing a talented workforce cannot be understated. It enables your organization to perform effectively today, while also preparing you for future growth. But in reality, how many are companies actually nurturing their employees?
With aging workforces and a shortage of critical talent being among the biggest challenges facing today's businesses, strategic workforce planning has become one of of HR's most important responsibilities.
