Uncover the riskiest 1% of threats you’ve been missing. In hours. Not days or months. Nearly all endpoint security solutions claim to block 99% of malware. But what about the 1% of threats they miss? The most dangerous 1% of threats will wreak havoc on your network. If you rely solely on traditional point-in-time technologies, such as antivirus, those threats can go undetected for 200 days on average. For months on end, they can be creeping in and moving laterally across your network causing damage through stealthy malware campaigns without you even knowing it—until it’s too late.

From stolen consumer data to sensitive data leaks, it seems that no one’s data has been safe in recent years. For numerous reasons, like misconfigured storage repositories and unpatched vulnerabilities, this trend is likely to continue. The integration of digital technology into all areas of business has resulted in more of our data being stored on computers and websites targeted by hackers, which has significantly increased the number of data breaches as well as organizations’ vulnerability to malware attacks. For example, the Equifax breach impacted 145 MM consumers, and with more employees working remotely on a wide range of devices, the threat landscape has expanded. The meteoric rise of the public cloud has compounded this issue, as data security requires new knowledge and skill sets in short supply, often leading to misconfigured and insecure solutions. Companies need to adopt the approach that every piece of data in their possession, on-premises or in the cloud, must be encryp

The endpoint security market continues to expand with vendors old and new marketing their solutions as “next generation” game-changers. However, closer inspection reveals that many new solutions have been built on old platforms, many of which still rely heavily on signature-based detection and obsolete architecture. Navigating this crowded vendor landscape can be challenging — how does the buyer find the true next-generation protection today’s targeted, advanced threats demand? A new white paper, “The Five Essential Elements of Next -Generation Endpoint Protection,” offers guidance on how to see through the hype and understand the critical must-have elements that meet true next-generation criteria and set a new standard in EPP. As damaging breaches continue to occur, more organizations are considering endpoint detection and response (EDR) solutions to address the incidents that aren't being handled adequately by their existing defenses. However, EDR solutions come in a wide variety of implementations and can vary significantly in scope and efficacy — choosing the best solution can be challenging. This white paper, “Endpoint Detection and Response: Automatic Protection Against Advanced Threats,” explains the importance of EDR, and describes how various approaches to EDR differ, providing guidance that can help you choose the product that's right for your organization. Read this white paper to learn: What makes EDR such a valuable addition to an organization's security arsenal and why finding the right approach is critical How the “EDR maturity model” can help you accurately evaluate vendor claims and choose the solution that best fits your organization’s needs How the CrowdStrike® EDR solution empowers organ

Stay ahead of the evolving threats. Organized crime is driving the rapid growth and sophisticated evolution of advanced threats that put entire website ecosystems at risk, and no organization is safe. The stealthy nature of these threats gives cybercriminals the time to go deeper into website environments, very often with severe consequences. The longer the time before detection and resolution, the more damage is inflicted. The risk and size of fines, lawsuits, reparation costs, damaged reputation, loss of operations, loss of sales, and loss of customers pile up higher and higher. The complexity of website security management and lack of visibility across website ecosystems is further impacted by the fact that it is nearly impossible to know how and where to allocate resources. Website security must be evolved in line with these growing threats and challenges.

Enterprises and the threats that target them have all fundamentally evolved over the past decade. In response, the security industry has generated an enormous amount of point solutions and technologies to try and keep pace. However, for all of this innovation and change, the underlying enforcement architecture has remained largely unchanged. A new modern approach to preempting threats is required. One that augments the existing architecture instead of replaces it. This new approach brings full enterprise and business context to real-time enforcement decisions. Identity, behavior, devices, anomalies, and risk all play a real-time role. Just as importantly, enforcement and access options can be graded based on the risk to the business, and policies can actively seek out and adapt to new information.

The personal cloud is the most persistent data loss threat to the enterprise today because many employees use their own cloud services to store work documents. Traditionally, content security solutions functionally link security and storage which requires the migration of work documents to a new content storage repository in order to enforce security policies. This increases complexity by creating more repositories for the enterprise to manage. Most importantly, this approach does not solve the personal cloud problem because individual users continue to store their work documents, for convenience, in cloud services that IT cannot secure.

"VPNs were created for the networks and business environment of yesterday: Most employees worked in an office, devices were limited, enterprise architecture was far less complex, and attacks, in general, were considerably less sophisticated and frequent. What worked 20 years ago cannot be trusted today. Your VPN is cumbersome and time consuming from a management and performance perspective. But what you might not want to concede is that VPNs, by their very nature, pose a significant threat to enterprise security. Read this white paper to learn more about: The vulnerabilities and inefficiencies of traditional remote access -Why VPN elimination must happen now -The four advantages to eliminating your VPN -How a cloud framework for application access works -Next steps to implement a more secure access solution"

"High-profile cyber attacks seem to occur almost daily in recent years. Clearly security threats are persistent and growing. While many organizations have adopted a defense-in-depth strategy — utilizing anti-virus protection, firewalls, intruder prevention systems, sandboxing, and secure web gateways — most IT departments still fail to explicitly protect the Domain Name System (DNS). This oversight leaves a massive gap in network defenses. But this infrastructure doesn’t have to be a vulnerability. Solutions that protect recursive DNS (rDNS) can serve as a simple and effective security control point for end users and devices on your network. Read this white paper to learn more about how rDNS is putting your enterprise at risk, why you need a security checkpoint at this infrastructural layer, how rDNS security solutio Read 5 Reasons Enterprises Need a New Access Model to learn about the fundamental changes enterprises need to make when providing access to their private applications.

Most security effectiveness tests take a sample of known malicious content, and see how many threats each solution can catch. Unfortunately, stopping known threats — those with a known signature, reputation or destination — isn't enough to protect real-world networks. So we designed a new test, along with leading independent test laboratory Miercom*, that simulates a typical day on a network like yours. We put a large sample of web traffic of unknown nature through our TRITON-powered Websense® Web Security Gateway solution, along with competing web gateways and firewalls. Each solution had a fair and equal chance to analyze, classify and block threats as it would on your network.
