Cisco has recently unveiled its new intent-based networking strategy, called "The Network. Intuitive." The goal of intent-based networking is to allow greater levels of automation, security integration, and centralized manageability within a software subscription orientation. Intent-based networking is underpinned by Software-Defined Access (SDA), Cisco's automation engine built upon the company's Digital Network Architecture (DNA), which automates network segmentation, policy enforcement, and troubleshooting. Other core components of the announcement include a refresh of Cisco Catalyst switches, a new licensing model for infrastructure, and an all-in-one management console called DNA Center.

The IDC Technology Spotlight, The Growing Need for New Technology and a Business Model in Network Monitoring, examines the stresses in today's mobile network planning and operations requiring a new model that incorporates a realistic approach toward cloudification. The paper also looks at the Gigamon solution for visibility in todayís mobile network, which facilitates efforts toward cloudification. This architecture provides maximum, centralized control to the mobile operatorís network planning and operations teams. Read to learn more.
In this paper, Zebra shows how a solid device management solution can provide consistency and visibility into device status to maximize uptime and business efficiencies. Ensuring visibility of all assets whether they are directly on premise or at remote locations is another key benefit-for both IT and finance. Doing so helps maximize productivity where the devices are used, streamlines inventory management and compliance operations, and helps to create a more agile enterprise.

Nobody can afford to lose data. But managing the backup
and recovery of data and services in far-flung locations can present many logistical and technology challenges that add complexity, expense, and risk. A new branch converged
infrastructure approach allows IT to project virtual servers
and data to the edge, providing for local access and performance while data is actually stored in centralized data centers. IT can now protect data centrally and restore branch operations in a matter of minutes versus days.
